François TRANQUART is General Manager of Bracco Suisse SA, Geneva Research Center and Manufacturing site since 2010. He received his PhD in 1995 in ultrasound and MR spectroscopy. For 23 years, he worked at Tours University Hospital. His last position was full Professor of Biophysics, head of Ultrasound Medical Dept (with 100 exams performed daily), head of Centre For Innovation (new ultrasound developments) and head of a research team (INSERM U930) dedicated to the development of new ultrasound approaches using microbubbles. His main focus was the assessment of new ultrasound imaging techniques from color Doppler to the development of ultrasound contrast agents and elastography. This was the first French site to perform HIFU on fibroids and bone metastases. His current research covers a wide range of activities in the field of molecular imaging, image processing and microbubble-based treatment in parallel with supervision of SonoVue production. He has presented more than 400 papers in national and international conferences, written more than 150 papers and participated to 20 books.
